If a hurricane is headed your way, plan for the safe removal of your windscreen and fence screens.
Here’s how to protect your investment and make reinstalling simple:
📋 Step-by-Step Windscreen and FenceScreen Panel Removal:
- Map your facility and label each panel on the map (e.g., A1, Court1-A, North-1)
- As you remove each panel, ensure that you tag or mark the windscreen panel with a label that remains visible, legible, and attached to the panel until it is reinstalled. We can provide fence screen tags if you need them.
- Store screens in labeled boxes in a safe and dry place.
- Keep your map safe for a quick reinstall.

⚠️ Can’t Remove Windscreens in Time?
Here are two last-resort options (use with caution):
With any high-wind event, the safest way to protect your windscreens and your fence is to remove the windscreens. Use the following options at your own risk.
➡️ Option 1: Fold-Down Method For Windscreens with a Center Grommet Strip
• Cut the side tie wraps down to the grommet strip, leaving the rest attached
• Now, cut the tie wraps at the top of the windscreen.
• Let the panel fold over itself
• Secure the top grommets lightly with a few tie wraps, passing them through the bottom grommets only. Do not put these tie wraps through the fence.
➡️ Option 2: Roll-Up Method
• Cut the bottom and side ties
• Roll the screen up to the top (don’t crease) and secure with lacing twine
• Use only if safe—this method can still catch wind
The bottom line is to be proactive when a storm is headed your way. Regular maintenance and smart preparation now can save you from major damage later.
